In 1886, Ferdinando Rossi, an Italian wholesaler of tobacco goods, founded "la Fabbrica di Pipe di Radica Rossi" in Barasso (Lombardy). It is after a visit to one of his suppliers in Saint-Claude (France) that he decided to start his own pipe production company. The brand grew rapidly and even became the largest pipe maker in the world between the world wars. In 1936, Rossi reached its production peak, with more than 50,000 pipes made each day. Unfortunately, after the Second World War, the company had a hard time adjusting to the changes happening on the tobacco market. It is Savinelli that eventually took over the brand and name Rossi, partly as a way to pay tribute to the close friendship between the two companies' respective founders, Achille Savinelli and Ferdinando Rossi. This revived the Rossi pipes, that came back to the market. These affordable 9mm filter Italian pipes are a perfect way for newcomers to get started in the pipe smoking world...
